Introduction of my instruments
The harpsichords I build are chosen because the originals appealed to me. When starting to build, I only made French harpsichords. As an experiment I built an instrument after Mietke, which was so well received I now mainly build this type of instrument. But I also make other types of harpsichord. You can see the repertoire here.
Apart from these instruments I am always interested in making new models. On my wish list are a 17th century Nicolas Blanchet (1698), a Carl Conrad Fleisher (1716) and a small undated Italian after Giusti (Berlin).
The standard version of the instruments include: transposition, a simple stand with four turned legs, music desk, ebony naturals and bone topped sharps (unless stated otherwise), and a tuning hammer.
All instruments have wooden jacks from Adam Swainson and are strung in wire from Malcolm Rose. |
